A word for those worriers

- The end is near with only two weeks left of the semester. It seems like the time has flown by.
Some of us are entering into the final weeks of the semester without too many worries, and some of us are in a complete haze. Final projects, tests, reports, you name it, the professors have assigned it.
For those of you who aren’t too worried about finals, I am very glad for you. For those of you who are worried, here are some tips to get you through the final days of studying.
1. Don’t get so caught up in all of your homework that you leave no time for your friends. They are the ones who get us through the days, weeks and months, and we don’t want to leave them behind in the final leg of the semester. They will be the ones you turn to when you need someone to quiz you over vocab. or when you need a late night coffee break while studying.
2. Back massages are a great stress reliever. If you know someone who gives a pretty good back massage, give them a call. Have them work all the stressful knots out of your back.
3. Find a good place to study. I am not talking about your bed, which happens to be the most comfy thing and puts you to sleep. Find somewhere that is quiet, with no distractions and is comfortable. You don’t want to be sleeping, but you also don’t want to be studying in the boonies. Even if you think it is geeky to go to the library, go. The staff is extremely helpful and they have all the resources you’ll need.
4. Take a break once in a while. This doesn’t mean take an hour-long break every other hour, but 15 minutes here and there will give your brain a rest. These last reasons may not have to do with preparation for finals, but they’re still important for everyone.
5. Relax and have fun. Even if some students are graduating or transferring at semester, most will be back here again for another semester of school. It will be OK if you don’t study all break in preparation for the classes this spring. (I know a lot of you were planning on it).
6. Enjoy the break.
