Success Just Comes Naturally for Strait
Music review by Carrie Sanderson
Trail Staff Writer

King of country music George Strait is back in a big way with his new album It Just Comes Natural. The album was released on Oct. 3 and has already produced a number one hit “Give It Away.” The next single off the album, “It Just Comes Natural,” is currently climbing the charts.
Currently, “It Just Comes Natural” is sitting in the number 12 position, and followed by “Give It Away,” which holds the number 13 place. It Just Comes Natural is currently ranked number three on the Billboard Country Album charts and peaked at number one.
Strait burst onto the country music scene in 1981 with the release of his debut album Strait Country. Since then, he has released a total of 34 album and earned 52 number one hits over the span of his career. In 1992, Strait stared in the movie Pure Country and released the soundtrack to accompany it.
My favorite song on It Just Comes Natural is “Why Can’t I Leave Her Alone.” I like this song because it is a classic country song. “Why Can’t I Leave Her Alone” is about still being in love with someone who isn’t quite in love with you. In the song, he doesn’t take no for an answer. The best part is “I drove to her mama’s stoned out of my mind to hear that it’s over from her one more time.” It reminds me of the older country, like Hank Williams and George Jones.
I think it is great that Strait is going back to the roots of country music, when most other country artists are going hip-hop or rap on their fans.
This is one of the best country albums I have bought in a long time. It is definitely not a waste of money for the hardcore country fans. It would be a great Christmas gift for the George Strait lover in your life.
In It Just Comes Natural, Strait shows today’s country music fans what real country music is supposed to sound like. Those who liked his early sound best will absolutely love this album.
