If you are flipping through the channels on a Thursday night around 8, you may come across Gil Grissom (William Petterson) and his faithful crew on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
This season has started out as a blockbuster with much angst and several very famous guest stars. In only the second episode, John Mayer guest-starred as himself
In the fourth, Kevin Federline appeared as an annoying teen, harassing Grissom and everyone else wherever they went and tonight Alan Tudyk (A Knight’s Tale) plays a child molester who helps the team solve a case.
Many interesting things have been going on in these first five episodes. Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) and Grissom are now an item, to the excitement of many fans.
“I think it’s really great. Sara has been pining after him for a long time and she deserves to have a romantic relationship,” says Lauren Blaesius, a freshman at Montana State University and an avid watcher of the show.
As with every major change there are also negative opinions. Colin Endsley, a freshman at Baylor University, commented, “I’ve never really liked the character of Sara. She seems too stuck-up and she gets too involved in the cases. I think she is too realistic for me. Grissom is such a good guy, I guess I was just rooting for something better.”
Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) wakes up in a sleazy motel, nude, and goes a quest to find out if she was raped.
Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) witnesses a gang beating and ends up a victim himself.
CSI, although very popular, is having a hard time in its current time slot. Thursday night is very popular for well-liked TV shows. Survivor and Smallville are two of those and both Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural are run at the same time.
Ratings have been up and though the future looks good, if the show does not continue to keep its so-loved drama and intrigue, it may fall in favor of Grey’s or even the lesser watched Supernatural.
